Your ORIGEN piece is made from recycled PET. With basic care, it will outlive you.
Daily care: Wipe clean with a soft cloth and cool water. For deeper cleaning, use mild dish soap and rinse with cool water. Air-dry upside-down.
Heat: PET softens above 70 °C / 158 °F. Keep away from stovetops, ovens, hot cars, dishwashers, and direct heat sources. Not microwave or oven safe.
Sun: Avoid prolonged direct sunlight. Years of UV exposure can subtly shift the color. A bright room is fine; a sun-baked windowsill in summer is not.
Water: Vases are watertight. Cool tap water and stems are fine. Do not pour boiling water in.
Drops: PET is durable but not unbreakable. A direct fall onto concrete may crack it. If yours cracks or breaks, see Take-back program.
Every ORIGEN piece is traceable to its source. We document every batch we produce.
What's in a batch report: the recycling-stream pickup date and location, the type of bottles used (Saratoga, Topo Chico, Poland Spring, etc.), the extrusion lot number, the filament yield, the print run dates, and the operator who hand-finished each piece.
Where to find your batch ID: printed on the numbered card included with your piece. Format: BAT-2026-MM-X.
Why we publish them: most "recycled-material" home goods buy filament from a supplier — so they can't tell you what your piece is made of. We can. Radical transparency is the brand.

Lead time: orders ship within 3-5 business days from our Jersey City studio.
Domestic: 3-day USPS Priority Mail standard. Tracking included with every order.
NYC same-day: orders placed before 12 PM Friday or Saturday are eligible for same-day delivery within one hour of NYC. Add at checkout.
Pickup: Friday and Saturday at our Project Studios space in Jersey City, by appointment.
International: currently shipping to US only. International coming with Project 002.
Two paths, depending on timing.
Within 14 days: full refund. Return the piece in original condition; you cover return shipping. Email hello@origenobjects.com for instructions.
After 14 days — the Studio Promise: if your piece isn't right, bring it into our Jersey City studio and we'll work with you. Two options:
Full refunds are not issued after 14 days — but the Studio Promise means no piece ever has to be a regret.
Standard warranty (everyone): 1 year on manufacturing defects. If your piece fails because of a print error or material flaw within the first year, we'll replace it free.
Lifetime warranty (Members): ORIGEN Members get manufacturing-defect coverage for life. Think AppleCare, but for objects. Your piece never aging out of coverage is one of the perks of membership.
Normal wear, sun fading over years, drop damage, and intentional misuse aren't covered under either warranty. For damage outside warranty, see the Studio Promise.
When you're done with your piece — broken, outgrown, replaced — we'll take it back and re-extrude the material into the next piece. The vase you own today becomes part of the lamp someone else owns tomorrow.
Eligibility: open to all customers with proof of purchase. Send your order number when you ship it back.
How it works: email us at hello@origenobjects.com with your order number. We'll send you a return address. Buyer covers return shipping — typically ~$8-12 USPS Ground.
What you get: material credit applied to your next ORIGEN purchase, equal to ~50% of your piece's original price.
Returned material is washed, ground, re-extruded into filament, and printed again — every step in our Jersey City studio.
One-of-one objects designed and made for your space. Vases, lamps, panels, furniture pieces.
Lead time: 4-8 weeks from initial conversation to delivery, depending on scope.
Pricing: commission projects start at $500 and scale with size, complexity, and material volume. Members get priority scheduling and 30% off design fees.
